Orbi RBK50 Mesh Setup

The RBK50 contains more than two networking devices in its box. In which one is a router node (Orbi router) and other is satellite nodes (Orbi satellites). Let’s see how to connect both the devices to your home network.

Orbi Router Connection

1. Place the Orbi router near to the home modem in your house.
2. Connect the Ethernet cable to the router WAN (yellow) port.
3. Plug in other end of the cable to the modem LAN port.

Then turn on the router and modem to start the network. After that, start to sync the satellites with the router.

Orbi Satellite Connection

Establish connection without any wire or cable:

1. Power up the satellites in your house on your desired positions in home.
2. Press the router Sync button (given on the back of the router device).
3. Press the satellites Sync button within two minutes, the connection will be established within minutes.

Establish connection with Ethernet or LAN cable:

1. You can use the Ethernet backhaul to connect the satellites to the router.
2. Use two pairs of Ethernet cable, plug in first one to the satellite 1 and router LAN port.
3. Connect the other pair to the satellites 2 and router another LAN port, then turn on the devices.

There are two methods to the log into the Orbi interface, which are through the Orbi app and other is through the web browser on computer.

Via App

1. At first, connect your phone to the internet and download the Orbi app from Play Store or App Store.

2. Open and access the Orbi app with the help of admin username and password. (Given on the label or user manual of RBK50 router and satellites).
3. You will get in to the dashboard, where you can create WiFi password, admin password, update firmware, and much more.

Via Browser

2. You have to connect the computer or laptop to the Orbi mesh network via LAN cable or SSID.
3. Open web browser and search the orbilogin.net or orbilogin.com or IP address 192.168.1.1, which will take you to the login page.
4. Here, you have to enter the Admin username and password (given on the label or user manual of RBK50 router and satellites).
5. By entering and tap Login button, you will get to the dashboard of the Orbi interface, where you can adjust the settings.
