Netgear Orbi Router Setup

In the Orbi router content box, you will get Orbi router, satellite, Ethernet cable, power cord, and user manual to setup.

• First disconnect modem to the ISP socket and disconnect the power supply.
• Place the Orbi router close to the modem and connect the Ethernet cable.
• Insert cable ends to the router’s WAN port and modem’s LAN port.
• Then, turn the modem and router device with the help of power cord.

Place the satellite nodes close to the router for just to connect them together. Follow instructions to connect Orbi satellite.

• Place the satellite device near to the router.
• Supply power to the Satellite.
• Press the sync button on both the devices.
• The devices will connect each other automatically.

Configure Orbi Mesh Network

The first step of Netgear Orbi setup is connecting your phone to the Orbi. Now, download the Orbi app in your phone. To download the app in Android Smartphone, use the Play Store app or if you have iPhone then use the App Store. After installing the app, just open the app straight away.

• Launch the app in your phone and enter the Login credentials.
• If you are using the Orbi device first time then create an account by tapping Sign Up.
• Enter the Email address, first and last name and generate password to create account.
• Inside the Orbi app, you have to follow instructions on the phone screen like adjusting settings.
• You must create a new WiFi network name and password for some security reasons.

Update Orbi Firmware Version

Basically, the Orbi Updates notifications come on your phone automatically. So, you can update the firmware straight away.

• Access the app and go to the settings.
• Find the Update tab and open it.
• Just tap on the Search and Update button.
• The update will start to install.

Reboot and Reset to Fix Issues

Reset Orbi

• Find RESET button at the back of the Orbi.
