Setup Guide for Netgear Orbi RBK854 AX6000

The Orbi RBK854 AX6000 is the latest model of Netgear mesh system. We will guide you with all the information about how to set it up and how you can configure it in home. But first, we want to discuss its features with you.

Orbi Router and Satellites Features

There are two different networking devices that Netgear Orbi comes with; one of them is router and other one is satellite. Have a look at features that a router and satellite provides to users;

Router Features

• Router connects with the home modem via Ethernet cable.
• In router hardware, you will find power port, up to 3 LAN ports, one WAN port, Reset button and Sync button.
• You will also find LEDs on the front and ring light on the device, which indicates the status of the router.

Satellites Features

• Satellite connects with the Orbi router without using any wire or cable.
• In satellite hardware, you will find power port, 4 LAN ports, Reset and a Sync button.
• You will also find LED light in the front of satellites.

Orbi RBK854 AX6000 Setup

First you have to link your Orbi router node to the modem via Ethernet cable and then Connect Orbi Satellite to router via sync button.

Connect Router to Modem:

Insert the cable to the router internet port and insert other end to the modem LAN port. then simply connect the power cord to the connector of router and turn it on.

Connect Satellites to Router:

To link the satellites to the router you have to connect them to the power and press the Sync button on the router first. Then within 2 minutes press the Sync button on the satellite node. Both devices will connect automatically.

You can use the Orbi app in your phone to configure Orbi devices. Also, you can use the computer to do it. We will explain both the methods;

Orbi App (Phone)

First download the app in your phone from App Store or Play Store. Then open the app and log into it. Enter the admin username and password (given on the Orbi label or in the user manual). then you can access the app dashboard. Here, you can easily manage its settings.

Orbi URL (Computer)

To log in to the Orbi mesh interface from the computer/laptop, you can use URL orbilogin.net or IP address 192.168.1.1. Just connect the computer with the Orbi network and open any browser. Now, type the URL or IP address and search by pressing the Enter button.

You will reach to the interface login page, where you have to enter the username and password (given on the label or in the user manual). log in to the interface and configure the Orbi settings.
