Setup Guide for Netgear Orbi RBK864S Mesh WiFi 6 System

Netgear Orbi starts to produce WiFi 6 and tri-band routers worldwide. One of them is RBK864S Orbi Tri-Band mesh WiFi 6 system. In this mesh system, you will get more than three networking devices. One router (RBR860) and others will be the satellites (RBS860).

Orbi RBK864S Mesh Setup

Yes, you will get the four Orbi devices in the package, one will be the router and other three will be satellites. Let’s see how to connect the router to the home modem with the Ethernet cable;

Connect Router to Home Network

• Place the router node near to the modem.
• Plug in the cable to the router WAN port and modem LAN port.
• Then simply turn on the router and modem.

Now, you should sync your satellites to the router with the help of the some instructions;

Sync Satellites to Orbi Router

• Power them on in your home on the desired positions.
• Then, press the sync button for once on the router and within two minutes press the same button on the satellites.
• You can also connect them via Ethernet backhaul method in which you have to use the Ethernet cable.

Orbi RBK864S Configuration/Login

After making a physical connection, you have to connect the computer or phone with the Orbi network which you can do with LAN cable or SSID.

There are two different ways to configure the mesh device one is phone (App) and two is computer (URL or IP).

Via App or Phone

• Download the Netgear Orbi app in your phone through Play Store or App Store.

• Then connect the phone to the Orbi network and open the app to access its dashboard.
• To access, you have to enter the Username and password in the given fields on screen.

Note: You will find the admin credentials on the label or in the user manual of the Orbi RBK864S mesh router.

Type the credentials and tap on the Login button, you will be taken to the app dashboard, where you can complete the setup.

Via URL or Computer

• There is another way to configure the mesh system which is through the computer or laptop.
• Connect your computer to the Orbi network via LAN cable or SSID details.
• After that start your computer and open the web browser, which should be updated.
• Type the URL orbilogin.net or IP address 192.168.1.1; press Enter from your keyboard.
• You will get to the interface Orbilogin page, where you must fill the admin credentials.

Note: You will find the admin credentials on the label or in the user manual of the Orbi RBK864S mesh router.

Enter the details and click on the Login button, you will reach to the interface, where you can complete the setup.
